Volunteer Opportunities

Together, we’re working to advance the common good by focusing on the building blocks of a good life: a quality education that leads to stable jobs, enough income to support a family through retirement, and good health.

But our community agencies and organizations can't do it alone. We need the heads, hands and hearts of people like you to help tackle the problems facing our communities. If you already volunteer, with your United Way, one of our partner agencies, or with other organizations, we thank you for your time and talent. If you are looking for a meaningful way to spend a little extra time, why not volunteer at one of the many non-profit human service agencies in Dunn County?

For more volunteer opportunities, call the information and referral number service for Dunn County, Great Rivers 2-1-1, by just dialing 211 or 1-800-362-8255, all day, every day.

Food Access and Resources Dept.

Food Access and Resources Dept.

The Food Access and Resources Dept. will be moving to Main Street in Boyceville. There is a need of volunteer drivers and able bodied workers who can help with food deliveries and packing boxes for Senior Citizens. Also, a new food pantry will be established within the Boyceville community for Boyceville residents. The addition within the Boyceville community will lessen the burden on the residents of having to travel all the way to Menomonie when our gas prices seem to constantly be on the rise. If anyone is interested in becoming a West CAP volunteer for the Food Access and Resource Program please contact Melissa Wyss at 715-265-4271 Ext. 1329 or email mwyss@wcap.org.

Positive Alternatives

Positive Alternatives

Positive Alternatives is looking for adult volunteers to mentor youth (K-12th grade). Mentors meet with a youth up to one hour per week during the school day at the school. They can go outside on the playground, go to gym, library (read books or play games), or go to the school's computer lab. This is an opportunity for youth to have a positive adult role model in their life to connect with. Each mentor must go through a background check and training prior to being matched. Contact Maleigha Myers at 715-235-9552 or mmyers@positive-alternatives.org for more information. Positive Alternatives also has another volunteer opportunity within their group homes. Please contact Jeremy Hernandez at 715-235-9552 or jhernandez@positive-alternatives.org if this would be of interest to you.
